Chris Linscott

Originally from Needham, Massachusetts, Chris is a certified public accountant, as well as certified fraud examiner and certified insolvency and restructuring advisor. In addition to his work with HK Turnaround, Chris serves as the Director of Litigation and Bankruptcy Support Services at Keegan, Linscott and Kenon, one of the premier accounting firms in the Southwest. 

 

Chris brings broad and in-depth qualifications to the table when dealing with difficult and complicated business turnaround situations, often devising ways to solve problems that other advisors have not considered.  He enjoys the challenge of creating solutions and looks for what is right before he dwells on what is wrong, a unique commodity in this – or any – field.  

 

Chris has extended his expertise and creative problem solving in numerous ways, including:

 

  • Reviewing the bankruptcy documents of various commercial entities to determine their asset liquidation preference and financial viability,
  • Serving as an accountant for various Chapter 11 entities while assisting with various aspects of their corporate reorganization,
  • Acting as an accountant for various creditor committees in Chapter 11 proceedings to analyze fraudulent conveyance and preference issues and the financial viability of ongoing entities,
  • Serving as "Responsible Party" (Trustee) for Chapter 11 debtors in the process of successful corporate reorganizations,
  • Operating as receiver for corporate commercial entities and financial institutions in various states,
  • Serving as Trustee for Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 entities,
  • Acting as bankruptcy court appointed special examiner in complex Chapter 11 cases,
  • Preparing operating cash forecasts for commercial, municipal and non-profit businesses,
  • Developing financial packages used to obtain project financing,
  • Providing expert witness testimony, including damage analysis and accounting-related issues in commercial litigation cases dealing with lost profits, owner disputes, securities fraud, employee/employer disputes, personal injury, and business interruption claims,
  • Performing fraud analysis and forensic procedures related to litigation in Ponzi schemes and employee embezzlement,
  • Constructing damage theories including computer-generated models for commercial businesses involved in litigation,
  • Assisting in the implementation of computer conversions, including reviewing user documentation, specifying report parameters and designing user manuals,
  • Assisting in due diligence reviews of corporate commercial acquisitions and joint ventures,
  • Assisting in the preparation of SEC filings for bankrupt real estate entities, and
  • Analyzing sole and separate property issues, hidden assets and closely held corporations in divorce settlement litigation.

 

Chris holds a B.A. in Psychology from Amherst College and a M.S. in Accounting from New York University.  He is a member of the AICPA, the ASCPA, the National Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Association of Insolvency Accountants.  Chris is a life trustee of the Carondolet Foundation and a member of the United States Tennis Association and also spends time as a coach of youth sports.
